Diversity and opportunities on offer at Kurrajong First Contact

Coordinator role provides opportunities for growth

In 2019, Narrandera local Tayla Carey joined Kurrajong as a Community Support Worker in the Narrandera Supported Living team.

“I’ve always been aware of Kurrajong and the great range of services they provide within our community. I loved seeing the clients engaged in various activities, social groups and employment.

In the three and a half years as a Support Worker I’ve really enjoyed working with a diverse range of clients. Helping them upskill to achieve their goals is so rewarding and fulfilling. I wanted to grow as a professional and progress within the organisation. In May this year, I commenced as a Support Coordinator for Kurrajong First Contact.”

Support Coordination involves linking clients to services, helping clients and families navigate their NDIS Plan, helping Coordinate Service agreements with various stakeholders and assisting clients to connect with their community and mainstream supports.

“I like the diversity within Kurrajong and the opportunities the organisation provides to people with a disability. Throughout my time with Kurrajong, I have built relationships with clients, their families and stakeholders. I love being able to help people with a disability live an inclusive life and have equal opportunities.”
