Ever wondered what really happens to your recycling? The team at Kurrajong Recycling are ready to show you.

Our tours demonstrate what we do, what we can recycle and the important role everyone plays in recycling correctly at home and work. They are also a great opportunity for us to answer questions and learn more about your recycling experiences.

To ensure a safe and informative tour within an operating industrial site, each tour is designed according to the needs and features of each group e.g. age, interest, mobility and available time.

Tour content

Tours are designed around three areas:

  1. Site Orientation and Safety talk
  2. Walking tour of the facility: the sights, sounds and smells of processing, baling and storage of materials
  3. Workshop: How to ‘Recycle Right’

Tour timing & group size

The time taken for a site visit is 1─2 hours, depending on the group size, age and requirements.

Tours are conducted on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with high activity days (a high number of trucks unloading) being Tuesday and Wednesday between 9 am─2 pm.

To view machinery operating, take your tour during staff work periods: 9.30 am─11.30 am, 12 pm─2 pm and 2.30 pm─4 pm.

Note that these times may vary during extreme weather.

School groups

Pre-school and primary school groups require about one (1) adult (school-support staff/parent) to five (5) children to safely conduct the tour. Discuss the ratio for your high school student group with our staff.

Community groups

Group sizes for adults is between 15 (min.) and 28 (max.) people. Large groups may be split with half touring the site while the other half undertakes the training session and then swapped over. Please speak with the Kurrajong Recycling contact about your group and a suitable tour time.
