Meet Noel Raymond

For the past 7 years, Noel has worked at Kurrajong Recycling in West Wyalong. Here you’ll find him sorting and baling cardboard to be sent to Visy in Tumut to make other paper products.
He also helps hand-deliver pamphlets across town every Tuesday and Wednesday.
“I like the walking. We get to go somewhere. It's good exercise,” Noel said.
Noel likes to share a joke with his workmates, helping his Mum on their hobby farm and cooking (scones and Anzac biscuits are his favourites).
How Kurrajong helps Noel:
Kurrajong staff are focused on helping Noel develop his independence. This involves helping him attain his workplace goals and maintain relationships with his colleagues, assisting him to make appointments and run errands and building his computer skills so he could study and sit for his learner driver’s licence. They are now teaching him to drive.
“Getting my L's felt good. I live out of town, so now my Mum has to drive me into town. One day I’ll have my licence and I’ll be able to drive myself to town.”
Noel as a very efficient worker that can do anything that needs doing. A lot of the time he does these things without being asked. He's the first to get in and get his work done, and he's a very quick walker during delivery. He's very thoughtful with the other employees.
